Even if I get in an accident in a new of used car, thats what insurance is for! And I got quotes already on my new car how much it would be, It wont be in my name either because it'll be wayy more. So my quesiton is: Would you spend the full amount on the car you want now? Or waste 5grand (or less) on a crap car that will mostly suck away the money from that account (if something happens cuz its so old) She says that in a year or so I can still get the car I want. (I would have enough money) But thats not the point.. I don't see wasting 5grand on a car. And it would be wasting. What do you think? Whats should I do and how can I say no to her idea thanks :)

Ive had my normal license (California) for 3 years and just got my motorcycle license. I am looking to buy a street bike, a sport bike specifically. I've looked at all the sporty bikes from 250 to 1000 and I plan on getting a 600 because I've been riding dirtbikes since I could walk so I know I'd get bored of a 250 but at the same time I know I'd kill myself on a 1000. Okay so I was originally charged with DUI because I was pulled over for swerving a bit and failed a urine test for weed at the police station, but had no drugs in my blood, which meant I was not under the influence at the time of driving. This charge has the pretty much the same mandatory minimum sentencing requirements of a DUI. Help! Being sued for auto accident and my liability was too low. What can happen?

I just received notice from my insurance co that I am being sued for an accident that I was at fault in last summer. At the time, there were no injuries reported and we each were able to drive away. Car Insurance Cancellation Question?

My father's car insurance was canceled for non-payment. He pays for the insurance every six months. Apparently they stopped mailing him bills and sent a bill to his email account. It was an old out of date email account. The sent the notice of cancellation to this email account as well. Since, he no longer has that email account he didn't get either notifications. He has 3 cars under this policy and has been a customer for over 30 years. The insurance company told him that he would have to pay for the months (Aug - Dec) that he was not covered in order to reinstate the policy. This seems unfair to me. He wasn't covered during those months and they wouldn't have paid a claim so why does he need to pay for it? Anyone with any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Car insurance, help!?

I'm 21, fully comprehensive insurance, new '09 plate car, my car insurance costs me about 300 per year. I am going away to Alton Towers next month with my partner and two friends and I was wondering what is the cheapest way of going about insurance to enable them to drive my car for the 2-3 day road trip down there and back. We want to split the journey between two of us as it will take about 6 hours there and 6 hours back so we were going to do 3 hours each there and back. We're taking my car as it's the only reliable one and the most spacious. The two people possible for driving is a 19 year old boy (im guessing the insurance will be way too high for him) and a 19 year old girl. They both have their own cars and their own insurance and have both been driving for 1 - 2 years. The girl will be 20 when we actually go down there but she is fully comprehensive on her dads insurance. What can we do? And please don't suggest I drive all the way as I've done it before and I said i wouldn't again as it was just too long to concentrate on one big stretch of road, even with a couple of stops. Switching auto insurance & moving to another state?

This is my first time dealing with switching auto insurance to another state. I really would like to know which day should I switch the auto insurance. My insurance company covers both states. If I move from MD to VA on April 1, and I plan to register my car with VA DMV on April 4th. On April 4th, I guess I should have VA vehicle insurance ready for car registration, maybe I need to switch the auto insurance between April 1st and April 3rd. But if I switch auto insurance between April 1st and April 3rd, but at that time my car is still registered with Maryland (while no more MD vehicle insurance). Regarding switching auto insurance and car registration, which should happen first? Thanks.

Car Insurance -- Hail damage?

Just wanted to come here to ask a question. My car is an '03 model and was caught in a hail storm a few weeks ago. I have probably around 30-45 dents in my hood, roof, and a large dent on the rear passenger side door that I believe is a result of the wind blowing things around, etc. I have an appointment to get it looked at tomorrow and the people at the insurance company said that they'd write me a check for the cost of the repairs. BUT, i asked her if she knew about how much I'd be expecting and she said that it depends on if the costs exceed the deductible? That's where I'm having problems. There is no lien holder on the car. And from what I've read on the internet, these repairs could cost over 1k. If that's the case, would they just say that we need to pay the deductible and they'd fix it? Or would they write me a check for the repair amount? If someone could answer I'd really appreciate it. Thanks
